Over 400 people supported Windsor-Essex small businesses at the Small Biz-Big Buzz Expo

Windsor-Essex County, Ontario, Thursday, October 22, 2015 – This evening, WindsorEssex Small Business Centre, operating within the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation, presented the Small Biz-Big Buzz Expo in recognition of Small Business month at the Water’s Edge Event Centre. More than 40 local and diverse small businesses promoted their products and services to over 400 people in attendance.


In addition to local foods being offered by Mezzo Ristorante & Lounge and Carrots N’ Dates, local wineries North 42 Degrees Estate Winery, Pelee Island Winery and Cooper's Hawk Vineyards participated along with Craft Heads Brewing Company. Live entertainment by local songwriter and singer Crissi Cochrane and demonstrations by many of the small business vendors added excitement to the evening.

Felicia Doucet, owner of Fake It Spray Tan and Beauty Bar, said, “As an entrepreneur, starting my own business was the most rewarding decision I’ve ever made. I had confidence knowing that the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre was there to support me every step of the way. Exhibiting at the expo is just one more way SBC is helping me to brand and grow my business.”

Sabrina DeMarco, Executive Director of the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre, added, “There was a lot of buzz in the air tonight with the public and vendors interacting. This tells us that there is a definite need for SBC to plan events like this in the future and help create an environment that  brings the customer together with small business. Exposure is what entrepreneurs need and they got it tonight with over 400 people of every demographic attending."
