Fostering a Culture of Entrepreneurship

Windsor, Ontario -   The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) is pleased to welcome Sabrina DeMarco, Executive Director, Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development - WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation, as our guest speaker on Monday, Oct.5, 2015 at our regular Monday luncheon meeting held at The Caboto Club.

Sabrina DeMarco has worked in the field of community and economic development for 15 years. During this time Sabrina has held several progressively responsive roles relating to business and entrepreneurship and has had the privilege of working alongside hundreds of business start-ups and dedicated entrepreneurs along the way, helping them to succeed. As Executive Director of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development at the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation, Sabrina provides strategic direction and oversight of the region’s Small Business Centre and works collaboratively alongside public and private partners to foster and support economic growth through small business and entrepreneurial activity.

Sabrina holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Business Administration Certificate from the University of Windsor and Odette School of Business. In addition, she holds a Human Resource Management Certificate and has completed a two year Economic Development Program at the University of Waterloo. Sabrina brings a wealth of community development experience and has an exceptional track record in planning and executing projects, events and business development programs.

Sabrina is a member of the Economic Development Council of Ontario and Economic Development Association of Canada and currently serves on the board of directors for the Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator and WEtech Alliance.

In her presentation, she will outline the services and programs available to new and existing small businesses in the region, review their successes and impact to the community and speak about what they are doing to foster a culture of entrepreneurship through the enhanced youth entrepreneurship programs.

Sabrina is scheduled to begin her presentation at 12:30pm and conclude by 12:45pm
